A lifelong performer, close to the end, is desperately seeking validation of their status in youth. There was never a hit song or performance they could share, and they spend their last moments in fear that the people most important to them, will never truly understand that they were once “famous”.
Their definition of success doesn’t allow them to see the impact they have made in so many lives. They have brought joy to every relationship, kindness to every interaction, they are admired, and they are loved.
My role, is to share my gratitude for the success that I see, and hold hope that their perspective may shift.
